Labor Day has a special meaning for the Robbins family. The vast majority of Americans view Labor Day as another holiday and time off from work and their normal daily grind. Labor Day (as defined by Wikipedia) constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well being of their company. It is widely regarded as a a day of rest, with the majority of American families taking the day off from their normal "work" routine to go to the beach, spend time at the pool, play and round of golf, go on a boat, or have a picnic. Many Americans use Labor Day weekend as their final summer bash, to reflect in the exciting moments of the summer months and look forward to the new season; a season filled with school, sporting events, evening networking events, galas, and other social gatherings and festivities, hopefully with a tinge of and weather on the horizon.

Trading vehicles is a pretty common occurrence. But trading real estate… unheard of..??? Not unheard of, but not a common transaction. The typical real estate transaction involves an owner that desires to sell a property and a third party that desires to purchase said property. The sale is consummated at the closing, where a Buyer provides funds to a seller either through a cash payment, third party financing, or a combination. Another type of real estate transaction involves an exchange. This is similar to exchanging your vehicle at a car lot for a new vehicle from the dealer. I had the opportunity to conduct a real estate exchange deal in the first quarter of 2014...............
Happy Monday & Happly MLK Day everyone. It’s been awhile since our last blog update so we have a lot to share. First things first I wanted to announce that there must be something in the water here at the Robbins Office. Mitch Helmuth’s and my wife are both pregnant. Mitch and I will both be fathers for the first time this coming July.

As for some information of a few specific deals: I leased 6160 Clark Center Ave., which is a 2,000 SF unit office warehouse unit. Loyd Robbins and Dan McLeroy leased a space at 4238 S. Tamiami Trail in Venice., Books a Million shopping Center. Kevin Robbins leased a warehouse facility at 2002 Limbus Ave. Last but not least Sam Erb leased two units on 10th Street Court East in Ellenton.

Hope every one has had an amazing week. As stated in last weeks blog, it was our CEO and founders birthday. Harry E. Robbins turned 82 on Tuesday the 17th. I'm very blessed to have been trained by not only my Grandpa, but by the man that started our firm. I made it back in time from my trip to Arkansas to spend some time with him. Speaking of my trip, I had an amazing time going to see my wife Sarah's grandparents and Aunt. Too cold for me but anything that requires a jacket is too cold for me.
On the business side of things we have been a busy bunch. Jeff Cashmore leased his listing on McIntosh to Uppercut Boxing and Fitness. Kevin Robbins leased 3 units at the Trade Center Commerce park as well as an office unit on Manatee Ave. in Bradenton. I leased a retail unit at the Boatyard to an artist as well as presented 3 other offers for my clients. We have plenty of other things that are in the fire so stay tuned! Besides working and staying in touch with family I coach basketball at Riverview High School. December our team hits the bulk of our schedule with district play, which will be a big deciding factor into our playoffs, as well as host a Holiday Tournament. The Holiday Classic will be a four day event at Riverview High School on December 26, 27, 28, and 30th. We will have local teams such as Riverview, Booker, Braden River, Cardinal Mooney, Southeast, Palmetto, Manatee, and North Port. Also, teams from out of the area: Alonzo Tracy Mourning High School, Sickles, Lake Howell, Eastbay, and CCHS from Kentucky. Here is the bracket if you are interested in seeing some games.
This weeks blog will talk about some renovations that our office has been under and now completed as well as honoring some very important Birthdays (besides Jesus of course) that are this month.
Thanksgiving day we launched our new site. Milestone Marketing Associates worked the past couple of months and created a great, user friendly site.
