Loyd Robbins Lands a Space for "Fox Glass and Mirror"
2020 brought challenges that a lot of business owners could have never seen coming. For many, it meant slowed production and less time in the office. For property owners, it meant halting business altogether. The latter was all too true for the previous owner of 1915 12th St in Sarasota. The property purchased with the help of Loyd Robbins was previously used as a profitable auto repair facility business. ATA Auto Repair was looked to by South Floridians as a trusted destination for all of their “buy here, pay here” auto service needs.
In its first 20 to 30 years, the business excelled, offering rates for automobile parts that the other shops could not compete with. And through the years, ATA serviced thousands of moving, roofing, and painting vehicles. A “fleet,” as the owner referred to them, of company vehicles needing parts and servicing kept him and his employees working on a routine basis. The owner’s investment, however, threatened an increased volatility in response to the global pandemic, as it hindered shipping and manufacturing processes. The job seeking during this time dwindled as well, making laborers that much more difficult to find. Facing these challenges, the owner concluded that the sale of the warehouse and office space was the next best decision.
The new owners of the half-acre property were assisted by Loyd Robbins, Principal Broker of Harry E. Robbins Associates, Inc in their purchase. “The value of a property has everything to do with how much business one can flow through it,” says Robbins. While this space was once a staple destination for the “buy here, pay here” automobile market, it is helping to cater to new needs of the public. “Fox Mirror and Glass” is the new entity owner the large office/warehouse building. The company has been striving to receive the title of ‘the best glass interior company in Sarasota’ since 1983. ‘And what services does this company offer?,’ one might wonder: The company challenges the status quo of cabinet, shower, countertop, backsplash, and even barndoor creation to suit their customers with elegant and glossy, modern-looking spaces.
“Maybe I am a little biased to root for them because I can relate to the challenges and rewards that come with running a family business,” Robbins jokes. An agent, and also a friend to the Fox’s, Loyd expresses that he believes this budding business will thrive during these trying times. His goal in all of his transactions, he emphasizes, is not only to set clients up with a space the makes them happy, but also that compliments the goals of their businesses. With Fox Mirror and Glass’s vision to push the limits of fabrication and maintain a dedicated team of employees, this multi-generational family business is bound to achieve great results at their new location.
