Kevin Robbins Facilitates 9-Acre Purchase in Downtown Sarasota

The assemblage of the nearly 9 acre site located in the downtown core of Sarasota is another feather in the cap for Harry E. Robbins Associates, Inc. This site is another monumental step in the redevelopment of downtown, specifically the East Main area.  The purchase by Kevin's client took place in Downtown Sarasota, and included the acquisition of the 'Chase Bank' building, situated on the southeast corner of Washington and Fruitville, and spans 6 city blocks along Fruitville, just east of East Ave. 

The following excerpt from Laura Finaldi of the 'Sarasota Herald-Tribune' recounts the details of the purchase:

[Nearly nine acres in downtown Sarasota near Payne Park and the Legacy Trail have been sold, and the new owner plans to convert the site into a mixed-use project. 

Harry E. Robbins Associates, Inc. of Sarasota said early Tuesday that it arranged the sale of several properties spanning about six blocks in the southeast corner of U.S. 301 and Fruitville Road to Atlanta-based Brook Farm Group...

Robbins said the site will be developed into a mixed-use project, including both market rate and attainable housing as well as complementary retail and commercial developments. It will be called "Park District," a nod to its location near Payne Park and the Legacy Trail.

Brook Farm will develop it with BluMark Capital, LLC, an entity registered to Sarasota attorney William Merrill. 

On its website, Brook Farm describes itself as a "full-service real estate and development firm" focused on residential properties... 

Robbins is the real estate firm involved in the nearby 1991 Main St. project, owned by Belpointe Companies of Connecticut. Commercial space and more than 400 apartments are under construction at the site, which was purchased by Belpointe in November 2019 for $20 million.

“The sale and current redevelopment of 1991 Main acted as a catalyst for rapid growth in the East Main area, which I define as east of Orange Ave... There are new development plans in place on at least 8 different sites spanning nearly 24 acres of land. There are other sites in planning stages as well.”
